Megan Swanker and our Sailors’ stifling defense shutout 15 different opponents… Raegan Cox tallied 29 goals and 30 assists – a total of 59 points… Sarah Mikesell notched 40 goals on the season… The girls won a school record 21 games… and the list of team / individual accomplishments goes on and on. Unfortunately, their magnificent run ended in the Regional Semifinals against undefeated Forest Hill Central, 4-1… a contest that saw the Sailors hold a 1-0 lead until roughly 25 minutes left in the match.

Under first-year coach Dylan Darga, Mona Shores was a monster among Division 1 programs – the highest division of play within the Michigan High School Athletic Association. The team swept through conference and district action, only allowed 13 total goals against them on the season, and return all but three seniors for the 2017-18 campaign.

What a great run! Congratulations to all involved with this special program! Go Shores!
