Meet Recap

The Mona Shores boys tennis team kicked off its season with a solid showing at the Grandville Open. While Grandville took 1st, Shores finished 2nd place overall, edging out tough competition from Holland and Caledonia. The 2 doubles combination of juniors Thad Krause and Dustin Hammerle took home their flight championship trophies, winning all three of their matches. Winning multiple matches for the Sailors were junior Andrew Swirczek (1 singles), senior Nick Davis (2 singles), and sophomore Austin Grimm (3 singles). The 1 doubles team of seniors Connor Belanger and Zach Davis, despite losing two tight matches in 3rd set tiebreakers, earned 1 win on the day, helping the team take 2nd place overall. Next up for the Sailors is a quad at Grand Haven on Tuesday, August 22. Mona Shores will take on Grand Haven, Spring Lake, and North Muskegon.
