Girls’ golf reaps post-season awards

Third time’s a charm: Sailors win state title again

For the third consecutive year, the Sailors captured the Div. 2 state title with a 27-stroke victory over second-place Birmingham Seaholm. Golfers head to state after third straight regional title

 Junior Morgan Smith took medalist honors with a 77 as the Sailors won their third straight regional title at Egypt Valley Country Club in Ada. Shores finished with 334, and second-place Greenville had 343. Juniors Britni Gielow and Hailey Hrynewich each finished with 85 followed by senior Ashlee Taylor with an 87.

Sailors win final regular-season invitational

Junior Morgan Smith broke her own school record with an even-par 72 in leading Shores to the 41-stroke victory at the Greenville Inviational. The Sailors rolled to their fourth consecutive City title outdistancing second-place Whitehall by 29 strokes at Fruitport Golf Club. Golf team continues dominance

Shores continued its dominance on the links with a 28-stroke victory at the Holt Invitational. The Sailors, who were led by junior Morgan Smith’s 78, finished with 319 while runner-up Holt shot a 347. Junior Hailey Hryenwich (79), senior Ashlee Taylor (79), and junior Kelsey McKinley (83) all finished in the top seven.
