Shores took a 28-26 lead into the fourth quarter only to see Grand Haven outscore the Sailors 23-6 in the final quarter to gain the 49-34 victory. Senior Torin Carlson led the Sailors (0-2) with 11 points.

Shroes wins dual opener over Oakridge

Shores dominated the Regular games by outscoring Oakridge 17-3 and easily won the match 23-7. Juniors Ashley Cory (199,181) and Jill Klein (181,189) paced the Sailors (1-0).

Sailors drop dual opener to Oakridge

Oakridge took a 10-0 lead after the Baker games and never looked back, winning 20-10. Juniors Grant Gillard (258) and Hunter Carlson (235) posted high scores for Shores (0-1).

Hockey doomed by penalties in 7-4 loss

The Sailors (1-3) allowed four power-play goals en route to a 7-4 loss to Forest Hills Northern/Eastern. Junior Adam Ulfsax, junior Austin Swiatek, senior Kyle Vanderwall and junior Tyler Bryant each scored a goal.

Shores falls 48-27 to Spring Lake

In the second match of the season, Shores (1-1) fell 48-27 to Spring Lake. Sophomore Taylor McPhail (119) won by pin in 40 seconds sophomore Adam Pawlowski (135) won a 12-4 decision, senior Zach Fields (160) won 17-1, junior Landon Kresnak (215) won by pin in 2:23.

The Sailor wrestlers opened their season with a 53-16 win over Montague. Boys’ hoop team loses season opener

Senior Aaron Doriot paced the Sailors with 19 points in the Sailors’ season-opening 49-45 loss to Whitehall. Senior Torin Carlson added 10 points.

Willson wins 100 breaststroke in loss to Spring Lake

Junior Kyle Willson picked up the only win in the season-opening 117-68 loss to Spring Lake.  Willson posted a time of 1:08.55 in the 100 breaststroke.

Klein wins individual competition at Shores Invitational

Junior Jill Klein won the individual competitionat the Shores Invitational by 75 pins while Wyoming Rogers won the team event. Klein had a 665 series (210-218-237) to run away with the individual title. Sophomore McKenna Birch placed seventh with a 539 series (185-183-171). Boys’ bowling places second at own invitational

The Sailors fell to Waterford Kettering 447-359 in the finals of the Shores Invitational.  Along the way, Shores beat GR West Catholic 370-363 and Wyoming Rogers 355-334.
